Nick Such, CEO Nick is obsessed with solving hard problems with smart people. After spending his undergraduate years designing, building, and “raycing” solar-powered cars at the University of Kentucky, he was accepted into Stanford’s MBA program, but chose to defer admission for 2 years. He knew he was interested in tech startups, but wanted some first-hand experience to figure out which side of the table was more fun. This process started with 6 months of investment due diligence for KSTC. Then, seeing an opportunity to better connect smart young engineers to startup resources, he founded Awesome Labs. This arm of Awesome Inc helps undergraduate students turn their capstone design projects into scalable companies. AwesomeTouch was the first startup to rise out of Awesome Labs, and Nick was so excited with the company’s progress, that he turned down the MBA opportunity to keep leading it.
Brian Raney, VP of Sales Brian brings his experience with several technology-based startup companies to drive the sales, marketing, management, and financial aspects of AwesomeTouch. After earning a Computer Science degree from the University of Kentucky, Brian completed his Masters Degree in Economics. Brian founded his first software company, Sfenity, before graduating from college. After overseeing its merger with APAX Software, Brian served as the company’s CEO through its transition from a small web design firm to a top resource for mobile app development. Brian co-founded the Young Entrepreneurs of Lexington organization in 2008, and Awesome Inc, a business incubator, art gallery, and technology lab in 2009. He was honored as the Lexington Young Entrepreneur of the Year in 2010.
John Kiffmeyer, Chief Scientist and Software Engineer John animates scrollable lists in his sleep, and can build a jar file while blindfolded. Need to map a campus with several multi-floor buildings? Just give John 15 minutes, a Koosh ball, and a text editor, and he’ll make it happen. With a background in Computer Science and Computer Engineering, John always has his eyes on ways to port our apps to the latest touch hardware platform. John comes to AwesomeTouch from Lexmark and Voltaic Commerce, where he worked along with some rather astute hackers.
